We’ve talked a lot this week about Colorado agriculture and amazing things farmers and ranchers do, as well as the leadership of Colorado Farm Bureau members who stand up, use their voice and tell their stories to improve their communities and the industry. On March 20, farmers, ranchers, small businesses, community members and friends of agriculture across the state gathered to eat meat.

When the Governor declared a “Meat Out” holiday on March 20, right before the kickoff to ag week, Colorado agriculture stepped up, and let’s just say this year Colorado celebrated agriculture in an incredible way and while we’re still gathering information, the early numbers are pretty incredible:

It truly was an amazing day, and a fantastic kickoff to Ag Week. For all of those attending events, the support, camaraderie and joy was evident. Watching the many agriculture organizations come together for the bigger cause was truly wonderful. The local Cattleman’s association and county Farm Bureaus gathered together as well as other local groups to make March 20 a day for the record books. For many of our communities, it has been a year since we’ve gathered together and it was truly a powerful moment.

Be sure to let us know how much your event raised and we’ll add it to the total! Have photos? Videos? Send them our way! Email Taylor at taylor@coloradofb.org.
