In 2019, the Colorado Farm Bureau Federation along with the Colorado Farm Bureau Insurance Company embarked on a project to better connect local Farm Bureau boards with their local insurance agents. After many joint meetings, surveys and data crunching the Serving the Same People initiative was created to encourage collaboration and connections between both Farm Bureau organizations.

As a part of that initiative, an award was created to celebrate success stories and relationships that are built between local boards and their agents. Local agents can nominate the county boards that they work with and share the work that the board does to engage local agents at meetings and events as well as work with membership growth. Local boards can do the same for their agents.

Due to the overwhelming response and nominations from the agents and counties this year, the selection committee decided to award three top agents and counties.

In third place, Vanessa McKee from Rifle received the award. In second place, Luke Shilts from Weld County was recognized.

Finally, the top prize winners were Glenda Deshon and Jody Goemmer from Pueblo! The Pueblo County Farm Bureau board works closely with Glenda and Jody in everything that they do. Whether it’s advertising at the local county fair or attending membership drives together the teamwork they show helps offset advertising costs and highlights the the work both organizations do. This partnership is a great example of how county boards and local agents should work together and make an even bigger impact.

Congratulations to all of the deserving award winners!
