Serving the Same People Applications are Also Open

Each year, County Awards of Excellence celebrate the good work county Farm Bureaus are doing to spread the word of the organization in their community. Counties can apply for an award based on activities and involvement that occurred in 2022, so get thinking about those programs (if you haven’t done any already). Applications are reviewed and awarded at the 2021 CFB Annual Meeting.

This program is one of the best ways to celebrate the great work counties do. By sharing activities and examples with others, we are able to get creative when promoting Colorado Farm Bureau, driving membership and furthering the goals of all our members.

To help get those creative juices flowing, here are a few examples of award winners from last year:

  • Bent, Crowley & Otero County Farm Bureau: The three counties coordinated together to fill a radio spot on JBLK 1200. The radio spot was filled with county leaders, state staff and other leaders in agriculture who talked about hot-button issues and promoted the great work Colorado Farm Bureau is doing.
  • Douglas County Farm Bureau: Creating a new and exciting County Annual Meeting can be difficult, but that’s what Douglas County did. They held their meeting at the historic Sandstone Ranch and had fun activities. By the end of it, the county had signed up eight new members!
  • Washington County Farm Bureau: To help raise money for Ag in the Classroom and promote the organization, the county hosted a golf tournament with 40 people in attendance!

County Awards of Excellence are available in the following categories:

  • Policy Implementation
  • Local Affairs
  • Communication/Outreach
  • Leadership Development
  • Membership Initiatives
  • New Horizon

Have you completed a great program in your county? Submit it for an award! Applications are due at the end of the membership year on Oct. 21, 2022.

Serving the Same People Nominations are Open

In collaboration with the Colorado Farm Bureau Insurance Company, we also celebrate the partnership between local insurance agents and county Farm Bureaus with the Serving the Same People Award.

This award program was created to recognize and award outstanding agents that help create and foster a positive coalition with county farm bureaus. Agents that assist with shared events and activities, support member recruitment/retention goals, provide outstanding member benefits/products and serve county Farm Bureau members are just a few of the attributes that qualify for being a top agent.

Nominate your county agent that goes above and beyond to collaborate with your county farm bureau and provides outstanding service to members in your county. Applications are due at the end of the membership year on Oct. 21, 2022.
