Colorado Farm Bureau Vice President Reappointed as Member of EPA’s Farm, Ranch and Rural Communities Advisory Committee

Jul 21, 2026

Henderson was initially appointed to the committee in 2024.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced 21 members to the Farm, Ranch and Rural Communities Advisory Committee (FRRCC), and Colorado Farm Bureau’s Vice President, James Henderson, was reappointed!

The FRRCC provides independent policy advice and recommendations to the Administrator on crucial environmental issues affecting agriculture and rural communities.

Henderson stated, "I am grateful for the opportunity to serve again under a new administration. Farmers and ranchers are among America’s most proven stewards of our lands and resources. I look forward to helping advance a durable, effective regulatory environment that provides long-term certainty and unleashes the full potential of rural America.”

“VP Henderson will be a vital asset to the FRRCC, because he brings drought, ESA strategy, and rural community experience to the table. We’re glad to know the western experience he shares with so many will be included in this committee’s discussions,” said Ashley House, CFB Vice President of Strategy and Advocacy.

The selection process for new members began in December, with EPA issuing a request for nominations that drew more than 90 applicants. Members were chosen for their expertise in key EPA priority areas, including climate change and sustainable agricultural practices and represent a variety of agricultural sectors, rural stakeholders, diverse geographies.
